Next Lap Students Explore Fordham University

This week, the Bronx Burners Next Lap Class of 2028 visited Fordham University as part of our ongoing commitment to preparing students for success beyond high school.

Throughout the visit, students explored campus, learned about academic programs and student life, and experienced what it's like to be part of a college community. For many, it was their first time touring a university campus—an experience that can transform higher education from a distant idea into a realistic and achievable goal.

The college tour is one component of Next Lap, the Bronx Burners' multi-year college prep program designed to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need throughout the college admissions process. Through personalized mentorship, college visits, career exploration, and application guidance, Next Lap helps students build a strong foundation for life after high school.

This experience is made even stronger through our partnership with Sydney Friedman, whose expertise and personalized support help prepare our students for every stage of the college admissions journey. Together, we're working to ensure each participant has the tools, resources, and confidence to pursue their goals.
