The Next Lap was created to give Bronx students something every young person deserves during that transition: individualized attention, consistent guidance, and people invested in their success for the long haul.
Rather than stepping in only when applications are due, Bronx Burners works alongside students over two years. From test preparation and building a college list to applications, decision-making, and preparing for what comes after graduation, support evolves alongside each student.
Because no two students are taking the same path, The Next Lap isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s personal, relationship-driven, and built around where each student is now and where they want to go.

Bronx Burners partners with Friedman College Consulting to provide Next Lap students with individualized college advising throughout their high school and application journey. Through one-on-one guidance, students receive personalized support with academic planning, college exploration, building and refining college lists, applications, essays, and college decision-making, all centered around each student’s individual goals, strengths, and best fit.
